My Love for You Has Never Withered

Claire owes her life to Emmett Meyer, the untamable Prince of Silverbridge, who pulled her from a shipwreck and rescued her again when her drink was drugged. She gives herself to him, a man ten years her senior, and for three years she believes he has changed his reckless ways for her alone.

Then, outside his private room, she overhears the truth. Emmett and his friends laugh about the staged rescue, the photos he has taken of her, and his plan to release them on her graduation day to humiliate her uncle, Franklin Reed, his sworn enemy since childhood. She flees into the night, and when Franklin calls to offer her a fiancé and a return to Brighton Reach, she agrees.

Now Claire quietly packs, quits her job and circles the graduation date on her calendar, while Emmett promises a special surprise for that day. She has prepared a gift of her own.
