Story

The story

Seven years after marrying Edward Herring, Claire can somehow speak by phone with the younger version of herself, who still believes her engagement will bring her happiness. Claire shows her past self the scars instead: Edward lets others call her a manipulative bitch, and his mother, Mrs. Herring, only acknowledges his first love, Madison Scott.

At the engagement party, Madison arrives with her family and steals every glance, while Edward's friends retell how Claire supposedly slept her way into his life. Claire's mother, a waitress, can only apologize for being unable to protect her. Back at the Herring residence, Claire asks her younger self whether she still wants this future, and the sparkle in those eyes fades.

Claire's past is rewritten, and she vows never to meet Edward again.

Thanks to an accident, I'm somehow able to get on a phone call with the past version of me from seven years ago.

Upon hearing that I will be getting engaged to Edward Herring soon, Younger Me is so excited that she keeps rolling around in bed. She also claims that she will be the happiest woman in the world seven years later.
