Story

The story

Camille Miller has spent years helping her fiancé, CEO Xavier Thornton, build his company from the ground up. When her engagement ring goes missing, Xavier cancels their wedding to teach her a lesson and publicly announces he will marry his assistant, Kimberly Scott, instead. On their wedding day, Camille spots her lost ring on Kimberly's finger, but before she can question her, Kimberly bursts into tears and accuses Camille of framing her.

To console Kimberly, Xavier calls a company-wide meeting and live-streams it, publicly criticizing Camille as jealous and unworthy, and announcing he will strip her of all her shares as compensation for Kimberly's distress. The office watches with pity, expecting Camille to give in as she always has. But this time, she simply clasps her hands and wishes the two of them a lifetime of happiness, leaving Xavier frozen.

When Xavier slams a share transfer contract in front of her, Camille tears it in half and dials the police, forcing him to snatch her phone away.

Opening excerpt

But on their wedding day, I saw my lost ring on Kimberly's finger.

Before I could even question her, she burst into tears, claiming I had it out for her and was framing her on purpose.

To prove her innocence, she tearfully submitted her resignation.

Xavier, desperate to console her, did something even more outrageous. He called for a company-wide meeting, live-streamed it, and publicly criticized me.
