Story

The story

On her sixth wedding anniversary, Ada Taylor wakes in a hospital ward to her mother-in-law's blows and screams, blaming her for the drowning death of her husband, John Howard. The death certificate is vague, the doctor is nervous, and a body carrier waits to take John to the crematorium. Ada remembers everything: the diving accident, the company's deficit of over 100 million dollars, the eight years she served in jail after taking the blame, and the day she saw John alive, celebrating a tenth anniversary with his mistress. Now she refuses to let his body leave the ward, demanding an autopsy and clinging to him as she cries. John's secretary, Tina White, arrives with news that the police have surrounded the company, but Ada pushes her away, knowing the woman's true place in John's life. This time, she will not walk into their trap.
