The Ex-Husband’s Second Chance at Love

Avery spent her childhood losing everyone she loved, so when she learns her husband Ethan has been unfaithful, she files for divorce without hesitation. In court she fights for every asset, producing a recording of his wedding-day promise that all property would go to her, and Ethan signs, leaving with nothing. At twenty-five she has a car, a house and millions, and no one left to answer to.

Her friend Claire celebrates the victory, and Avery lets loose at a bar's open dance night, drinking until she blacks out. She wakes in an expensive hotel room with her clothes intact and a little red booklet on the bed: divorce papers. Furious and certain Ethan is behind it, she calls him, and he coldly denies everything, insisting he is homeless and starting over.

Avery is left with questions she cannot answer: how she ended up on that stage, whether she truly saw Ethan in the crowd, and who left the papers beside her.
