The story

He thought the woman he loved had come back to him but he was wrong.

Alex Mercer has everything a man could want: a successful career as a professional ice hockey player, a beautiful fiancée, and a future he can't wait to begin.

Then his former girlfriend, Lucinda Devereux, arrives at his home with a gun.

And one shot changes everything.

Lana Aberthany takes the bullet, leaving Alex terrified that the woman he loves will never open her eyes again. For fourteen agonising days, he waits, clinging to the life they planned together.

When Lana finally wakes, Alex believes his nightmare is over.

Until the little things begin to feel wrong. The woman in his arms looks like Lana. She sounds like Lana. But she no longer recognises the home they chose together, and familiar gestures stir memories Alex wishes he could forget.

Meanwhile, Lana is trapped in a darkness she cannot explain, fighting against a woman who wears her face and intends to take everything from her.

As Alex struggles to understand the changes in the woman he loves, one question threatens to unravel everything they have built.

What if the woman who came back isn't really Lana?

Some battles are fought on the ice. Others are fought for the soul of the woman you love. And this time, Alex may be facing an enemy he cannot defeat with a hockey stick.
