Go Bankrupt for Your First Love

At the space agency's awards ceremony, Stacey Everton watches her husband, Timothy Jackson, hand the honor that should have been hers to Karina Lincoln, a newcomer who has just returned from overseas. He accuses Stacey of plagiarism and rescinds her promotion before everyone, though she is the chief female designer of the new rocket and the one who secured the project's resources. Instead of arguing, she smiles, places her work badge around Karina's neck, and walks out.

Their marriage has been kept secret for the project's sake, and Timothy had promised to reveal it at the year-end meeting. Yet Karina flaunts a scratched wedding ring and a photo of Timothy cooking in her kitchen, and when Karina crashes into Stacey's car, Timothy slaps Stacey and drives Karina to the hospital. Stacey finally calls her mentor overseas and agrees to join his project, taking the new rocket's preliminary blueprints with her.

With her flight booked and the project materials sent to Karina, Stacey wonders how long Karina's crown will hold.
