My Love's ROI Was 10%, so I Vanished

Abby Wright is a top-tier venture capitalist who judges everyone by return on investment. She rates her marriage to Johann Aguirre at 10%, her mother-in-law's emergency heart surgery at 15%, while her childhood friend Edward Dawson's art exhibition earns 80% and a trip to chase the aurora 90%.

When Johann's research team is trapped on a mountain and he breaks his leg, Abby refuses to send her company's helicopter, coldly weighing the cost against a group of broke students. Starving and dehydrated, Johann learns Edward's cat was merely hiding under the couch all along. He finally calls his mentor, Henry Buckner, and agrees to join a classified national project.

Military rescue choppers reach him in time. From his hospital bed, Johann signs away his public identity and tells Abby the patent authorization is canceled and their marriage is over. She does not believe him, and takes Edward to a lavish gala to license Johann's patent at half price.
