Story

The story

When she was sixteen, a criminal broke into the family home, tortured and murdered her mother, Susan, and set the house on fire to destroy the evidence. She was there and saw everything, yet she refused to speak. Ten years later, her father, Darren, and her uncle confront her in her rented apartment, convinced she is hiding the killer's identity. Her father has followed her, filmed her speaking, and now accuses her of the murder herself.

He throws down her mother's hidden journal, which reveals a night of violence the mother tried to keep secret, and the family learns the man who attacked her died on the street a week before the murder. Lead investigator Leo Lane calls to say she is linked to that death. Held under watch and barred from her phone, she waits in silence for the police, seeing in her father's eyes that he no longer sees a daughter.

She remembers the killer's face and everything that happened, but will not say a word.
