The Monster I Made

"If you ever get consumed, I promise to bring you back. And if the world was ending, I'd come over and be by your side."

The mistake wasn't being a werewolf-it was losing control for three seconds and biting the one person I swore I'd never hurt.

I thought Bass Monroe was just the human boy I grew up loving. Instead, my bite woke up a dormant bloodline inside him-revealing him as the hidden heir to the Goldfang Warriors, the ruthless enemy my clan tried to wipe out. Now his wounds heal in seconds, an ancient violence is swallowing the gentle boy I know, and my own mother-the River Ash Clan's sworn executioner-has been ordered to put him down.

To keep my childhood promise, I have to break him out of my own clan's prison and run. Every kingdom wants him dead or leashed as a weapon, and I still don't know the terrifying truth: did I create a monster, or did I just wake one up?
