Swapping the Groom at the Altar

Ethan arrives at the wedding venue ready to marry Chloe, the woman he has loved for seven years, in a gown he learned couture tailoring to make for her. Instead, he watches her accept the confession of her ex-boyfriend Damian, who presents two thousand paper cranes and asks her to give him another chance. Chloe turns to Ethan and tells him plainly that she will not marry him, choosing Damian just for him.

What follows is worse than the betrayal. Chloe orders Ethan to strip off his tuxedo so Damian can wear it in his place, insisting the ceremony is already paid for and her father will not forgive a cancelled wedding. Damian plays the gracious rival, while Chloe blames Ethan for driving Damian away years ago and demands he apologize. Ethan refuses to let another man marry on his dime and vows to cancel everything with Mr. Hayes.

Before he can leave, relatives sweep the couple toward the aisle, where Chloe's dying grandmother waits in a wheelchair. Ethan, who owes the old woman the only warmth in his lonely life, is willing to play along for her sake, but Chloe is not.
