The Don Broke His Vows. I Broke His Rules

Three days after her father's death, Audrey's husband, Don Dante Vitale, returns from a trip with his first love, Bianca. Audrey has arranged the cremation and funeral alone, and she ignores him. When he finally speaks, he explains that Bianca, a cancer patient, had an episode. Audrey confronts him with what Bianca told her: one call from Dante pulled her father's neurosurgeon, Dr. Ricci, off his case to treat Bianca's mother. Dante offers a plot at Woodlawn, but Audrey refuses.

In the car, Dante takes Bianca's call and comforts her, blaming no one for her father's death. At the Vitale estate, Audrey finds Bianca's lingerie in his suitcase and watches Bianca arrive at the rose garden in the vintage Mercedes Dante said was in the shop. After midnight he slips out to hold her, and Bianca posts a photo of them stargazing beneath the window of Audrey's bedroom.

At breakfast Dante serves shrimp dumplings, forgetting Audrey's shellfish allergy. As they leave for the burial, a call about Bianca's accident pulls him away. Audrey has already scheduled an appointment with a divorce attorney.
