One Paintbrush Ended Our Marriage

At her daughter Lily's first birthday, Jenna watches the child reach for a paintbrush and decides she will no longer tear herself apart over her marriage. Her friend Nora urges her to forgive Ethan, who has cut ties with the artist Summer Bell and now tends to Lily with a care Jenna once prayed for. Yet Jenna keeps her distance, and Ethan cannot understand why the wife who once fought to keep him has grown so calm.

Six months earlier, Jenna went into labour while Ethan was away. He did not come, and she overheard him tell his mother that he had never loved her and felt little for their child. She later found him at Summer Bell's exhibition, where a portrait titled Longing hung, and he locked her in a car for more than two hours until she bled.

Now Ethan wants to know how long she means to punish him, while Jenna insists she is neither angry nor making scenes. What remains between them is a marriage she no longer wishes to save.
