Fifteen-year-old Kaelen Vance was an orphan servant with big dreams-until the Awakening Altar tested his mana at absolute zero. Branded a "Null," he was stripped of his name, mocked by noble heirs, and cast off the cliff into the Whispering Abyss to be eaten by rogue beasts.

But Kaelen didn't die.

At the bottom of the dark chasm, he bleeds onto a pitch-black, cracked egg pulsing with violet lightning. Inside slumbers an Aetherium Dreadwing-a forbidden dragon species erased from history because its flame doesn't burn wood... it devours pure mana.

Equipped with a mysterious System that lets him steal mana from fallen beasts and step through shadows, Kaelen hides his dragon as a harmless lizard and climbs out of the abyss. Under the masked alias "Ghost Rider," he enters the mercenary guild, taking impossible contracts and growing stronger in secret.

When the Imperial Tournament arrives, the arrogant nobles expect a victory lap. Instead, they will face the boy they threw away-and the shadowy terror riding at his side.
