The Intern's Betrayal

After a company intern reports him at customs, Ethan is detained for three days over what turns out to be his own sinus medication. When his wife Kendra collects him, she brushes the whole thing off, insisting the intern, Jackson, is simply naive and meant no harm.

At home, Ethan finds Jackson waiting in his living room, wearing his slippers and weeping apologies while Kendra comforts him and scolds Ethan for being petty. She warns that the smuggling rumor has reached the board of directors and that she has been the one suppressing the story. Ethan remembers the hospital nights she missed and the excuses she gave, and he asks for a divorce.

Jackson collapses into tears and threatens the balcony; Kendra turns on Ethan as if he were the bully. Ethan walks out into the night, and the next morning at the office he sees Jackson leaning close to Kendra, laughing with her as she straightens his tie.
