Story
The story
When a young woman moves into apartment 601 at Emerald Ridge Building 6, she never bothers setting up broadband, relying instead on her phone's unlimited hotspot. But Janice Gentry from 603 accuses her in the building's group chat of stealing Wi-Fi, and the whole building turns against her.
For a week, the neighbors change their passwords, freeze her out in the hallways, and file formal complaints. Then one evening, she switches off the dusty router left behind in her living room corner, and the entire building's internet collapses. Janice is the first to knock on her door.
Only then does she discover the truth: the router has been broadcasting an open, default signal to every unit all along. Who was really leaching off whom?

It seemed like too much hassle, and my phone’s unlimited hotspot was more than enough for my daily needs.
But then Janice Gentry from 603 decided to call me out in the building’s group chat.
