The Groom They Underestimated

On his wedding day, Trevor Dalton is handed a marital agreement by his fiancée's assistant. The hundred-plus clauses demand that he never kiss the bride below her eyebrows without permission, that intimacy happen only once a month for no more than ten minutes, and that any child take the Young family name regardless of paternity. When he calls Felicity Young to object, she dismisses him as a live-in husband who should be grateful she agreed to marry him at all.

Eric Watts, her assistant, sneers that Trevor should sign quietly or regret it, and the glamor team whispers that marrying into the Youngs is every man's dream. Trevor refuses. He tears off his tuxedo jacket and tries to leave, but Eric blocks him, threatening that ruining the ceremony will be his responsibility.

Felicity arrives with bodyguards, cuts off his introduction, and declares he is nothing but a freeloader who will never touch her. Trevor calmly proposes calling off the wedding, stunning the room. She demands to know if he is truly breaking the engagement. He answers yes.
