The story

Melissa McKinnon's family company is on the brink of bankruptcy, and her fiancé, Andy Goor, offers her money to keep it afloat. Just as she is about to accept, a barrage of floating comments warns her to refuse—claiming Andy is scheming after her family's assets. But Melissa has already lived this life once: she believed the comments, refused his help, and watched her family destroyed while she was sold and killed. This time, she takes the bank card without hesitation. Yet the comments keep coming, and her best friend, Chelsea Beatriz, leans in with warnings that echo the past.

When the company's accounts are suddenly frozen under suspicion of money laundering on payday, Melissa sees a subtle glance pass between Chelsea and the finance director, Terry. The truth behind her ruin begins to surface, and she decides to call Andy and demand answers.
