Ten Chances to Keep Me: Why I Chose His Brother

On Nora's birthday, a man claiming to be Liam from ten years in the future publicly cancels her engagement to his eighteen-year-old self and declares that Liam truly loves Chloe, the proud scholarship student Nora's family sponsors. The younger Liam calls him a psycho, yet when the two plan to apply to colleges abroad, he hesitates, and his application form goes missing again and again.

Each time, Liam's attention drifts back to Chloe, and the future Liam insists the pattern is fate. After the tenth lost form, Nora stops asking him to replace it. She calls Liam's older brother, Julian, and proposes that the alliance between their two families continue.

Julian agrees, setting their engagement party for half a month later, just before he leaves for New York for three years, a span that matches Nora's own plans abroad. Love that isn't steadfast, she decides, she does not want.
