My Husband Is The Rival

At her engagement gala, Isabel watches Alex Cross arrive with Lucy, the Hart family's biological daughter, already married to him. Her parents stand behind them, and the crowd whispers that the charity case has finally been cast out. Alex offers her a penthouse as a severance package; she drops her ring and walks away.

Leaving the Harts means resigning from Hart Memorial Hospital, where Lucy soon appears to gloat over old grudges and a stolen man. When Lucy raises a hand, the woman Isabel once called mother strikes her instead, warning her to stay away. Isabel had once gone under the knife to save that woman's life.

Calmly, Isabel ends the shipments and the research partnership, and the people who thought they had trapped her begin to learn what she is capable of.
