Story
The story
Harper is away on a business trip when her husband Nolan calls to say he is selling the restaurant her late father left behind for one point eight million. He insists his name on the LLC gives him the right to decide alone, then hangs up. Harper texts him that if he sells it, they are getting a divorce, cancels her meetings and flies home early.
Arriving at their condo, she hides behind the delivery lockers and watches Nolan laughing in a black Mercedes with an unfamiliar woman. He tells the woman Harper is out of state and cannot stop the sale, and that the worst case is a divorce. The two kiss before the woman drives off.
Harper remembers her father's dying words about the restaurant being the roots of their family, and the years he spent building it from a food cart. She asks her friend Jessica to trace the car's plate, then returns home to face Nolan, who is already preparing to sign the contract tomorrow.

I was in the middle of a business trip when my husband suddenly called. He told me he was selling the restaurant my late father had left behind.
"Harper, I've already decided to transfer the restaurant to someone else. One point eight million."
I froze for two seconds, demanding to know why he hadn't discussed something this massive with me first.
