Story

The story

Aria has spent years following the System's lessons, learning step by step how to win the heart of the Male Lead, Julian. But her affection score with him is stuck at 60, and Julian's first love, Sophie, is about to return from abroad. Desperate to stop them from rekindling their flame, Aria decides on drastic measures: she goes to Julian's penthouse in a red slip dress and asks him to be her boyfriend.

Just as Julian seems ready to accept, he collapses lifeless on the floor. The System, Cypher, admits with a casual "my hand slipped" that he deleted the Male Lead, then takes over Julian's body himself. Now Aria must romance Cypher instead, and her usual tricks do not work on him. When Sophie publicly frames her at a gala, Aria injures herself to turn the crowd against Sophie, and Cypher carries her away, praising her cleverness. Then a notification appears: Cypher Affection -5.

Halfway through the romance arc, the System deleted the Male Lead.

Casually, he said, "Whoops, my hand slipped."
