A Reunion Behind Bars

Rachel is trapped at a New Year's Eve dinner where her uncle Jackson pressures her to care for her dying grandmother. Her mother Grace, a people-pleaser, sides with him, and her aunt Maria and cousin Wallace join in the guilt-tripping. Rachel knows this family gathering is a trap, but she has lived through its consequences before: falsely accused of poisoning her grandmother for insurance money, convicted, and executed, while her uncle took her house and her mother froze to death outside.

Now she has returned to that same dinner table. Refusing to be a pawn again, Rachel fights back, exposing how the Warren family dodged their duty and seized the grandmother's land compensation. When Maria runs outside to perform grief for the villagers, Rachel stages her own scene, telling everyone the truth about her uncle's demands and her cousin's idle days.

With the family's schemes laid bare before the crowd, Rachel must decide how far she will go to protect herself and her mother from the fate that once destroyed them.
