Story

The story

Sam Gordon, a CEO, refuses to approve his employee Cassandra Luckwell's maternity leave. Cassandra takes her case to a livestream, and the internet erupts. Memes, wreaths and insults flood in; the board orders Sam to apologize on air. He refuses, calmly telling Cassandra he still cannot approve her leave and inviting her to sue him.

The backlash grows. The chairman Eric Webb warns Sam to apologize or face the consequences, his friend Koben Webb pleads with him, and a PR head reports that Neptune Media may pull its endorsement deal with the boy band Kingdom. Cassandra posts a hospital video with her husband, Wesley Luckwell, drawing more sympathy. When some commenters defend Sam, Cassandra pins their remarks and turns the crowd against them, and the internet soon identifies Sam's girlfriend, Vivian Williams.
