Ava Sinclair, heiress turned Hollywood actress, once took in a frail merman named Finn as a favour to her cousin Audrey. She cared for him for years, yet his eyes stayed fixed on Audrey, and he grew to see Ava as his jailer. He killed her in her sleep and burned her house down.
