Story

The story

After the Don, Lucas Vaughn, brings her to his estate, Zoe Lang becomes the woman he treasures most. He halts billion-dollar deals to be home on time and secretly learns sign language so he can speak with her after her vocal cords are damaged. As her pregnancy grows and his devotion deepens, she lets down her guard and devotes herself to being his wife and Donna.

But on the night she gives birth, she hemorrhages during a difficult labor and Lucas never appears. Surviving by luck, she learns he attended a Thames-side gala with rising movie star Serena Vale. In her cold hospital room, Serena reveals that Zoe was only ever a stand-in, chosen because she resembles Lucas's first love, and that she has come to take baby Luna Vaughn.

When Lucas arrives with his Soldati, he believes Serena's claim that Zoe hurt the child. He orders Zoe to feed Luna before everyone, and when she begs for privacy, he commands his men to strip her and force her. Zoe can only sign her pleas, her voice gone, her dignity stripped away.
