Story
The story
On Thanksgiving night, Gwen watches a livestream of herself from five years ago, radiant as Conrad proposes. Then a video arrives from Conrad himself, showing him with another woman. She types a warning to her past self: leave while she still can. The younger Gwen calls, demanding to know who she is and how she knows Conrad's name.
Gwen flips the camera toward the foyer, where Conrad brings Daphne, Gwen's best friend, home. Every new woman he takes, he films and sends to Gwen, a humiliation he has kept up for three years. She stays because her father's life depends on Conrad's medical resources, and because Conrad blames her for his sister Iris's death.
Her past self asks why she never walked away. Gwen shows her the empty lot where her design studio once stood, and tells her that for her, there is still time.
