Story

The story

On the day of the court hearing, Jessica Thorne urges her fiancé, Liam Foster, to drop his not-guilty plea and sign a confession, insisting that frail Ryan Hill cannot go to prison. In a past life, Liam refused to take the fall and was jailed, then tortured on Jessica's orders until he lost the ability to have children. Reborn, he signs the plea deal and watches her cunning flicker into false grief.

News of him stealing V-Corp's secrets floods the internet, and Ryan testifies as an eyewitness. Yet in the afternoon session the plaintiff, Vivian Sterling, withdraws her lawsuit, kneels, and asks Liam to marry her. When he tries to leave the villa, Jessica has him bound and locked in the basement until the trial, offering a diamond watch as compensation that Ryan seizes for himself.

With the hearing three days away, Liam secretly calls Ms. Sterling to arrange a meeting, while Jessica warns him not to wander.
