My Daughter Called Me Her Nanny

Paige stands at the school gates waiting for her daughter Mia, but the six-year-old turns away and screams that this woman is a stranger. When the teacher calls the police, Paige insists she is Mia's mother, yet Mia denies knowing her, and the teacher notes that only the grandmother usually collects the girl.

Paige's husband Trent arrives and, after a long silence, tells the officer that Paige is the family's nanny. In the car he blames her appearance for embarrassing Mia, and at home Mia strikes her hand away from the last chicken wings, while Trent's mother Helen scolds her for competing with a child.

Having cooked, cleaned and served the household for six years, Paige realizes that in her own home she is treated as nothing more than the help.
