Story

The story

Katherine helped found Ritchie Group with her boyfriend, Mike Vance, and gave it years of devotion. Then, at the year's end, she learns she is on the layoff list. Mike, the chairman, ignores her messages and answers only with a breakup, while her cousin, Camilla Avery, takes her office and her place at his side. Her parents scold her for not being more like Camilla.

Katherine returns to the company for an explanation. Mike tells her she is fired to make room for Camilla, and security escorts her out into the snow. She signs the resignation and walks away.

But Katherine has her own life, and when they come asking her to return, she refuses to accompany them.
