Story
The story
Alice Hayes and her best friend Stella are bound by a System and forced to seduce the cruel male leads of a novel. Alice must shatter the heart of Kevin Bright, her cold guardian who calls her a twisted freak, while Stella chases Marcus Blackwood, a stoic who uses her and refuses her final call. Three years of cruelty crush them both.
They make a pact to fake their deaths and return home. Stella jumps from the Apex Tower, and Alice cremates her and scatters the ashes in the Veridian River. When Alice's own exit opens, she purges every trace of herself from Kevin's villa and sends Marcus the recording of Stella's last call before throwing the phone into the water.
But Marcus and Kevin follow them into their own reality, playing heartbroken lovers desperate for a second chance. Regret, they believe, is enough to buy back the hearts they broke.
