Your SOS Belongs In Trash

Drew dies in a hospital bed, betrayed by the wife he thought had drowned years ago and the son he raised as his own. Chloe never died at sea; she faked her death to rejoin Brody, her first love, and Toby is Brody's child. Only then does Drew learn the letter he once answered was a trap that cost him his scholarship, and that Chloe knew all along.

He wakes at his old high school desk, the afternoon before the state scholarship exam, with that same envelope in front of him. This time he drops it into the trash can. Brody, who hired thugs to corner Chloe in the alley, loses his leverage, and when he swings a chair at Drew's writing hand, Drew fights back. Then a blow lands on the back of his skull, and he turns to find Chloe standing over him with a broken chair leg in her hands.

With his past life's sacrifice behind him, Drew refuses to play the martyr again, and the fairytale Chloe means to build may not survive without him.
