Goodbye, Saintess.

For five years, a firefighter named Grimwald has accepted the austere rules of his wife, Hera Bishop, an Awakenist who permits intimacy only once a month and never lets him stay the night. He tells himself that the Saintess loves him, and that her coldness is simply her faith.

That belief collapses when he is sent to extinguish a hotel fire and finds Hera in the flames, trembling and gentle, held close to a disheveled man named Edmund Castle while she soothes a young boy. His captain, Albert Holst, calls them a family. By the time the fire is out, the three have vanished.

At home, Hera hands him adoption papers for the child and refuses to explain, insisting her faith makes her innocent. When Edmund appears in her room the next morning, Grimwald finally sees the truth and asks for a divorce.
