Story

The story

At a family dinner, Nina Surridge watches Dylan Jenkin turn from her to sit beside her stepsister, Ivy Langford, and call their bond mere friendship. No one knows they have secretly dated for three years, and his mother Meredith Jenkin believes Nina is the one losing out. When Ivy and her mother Sheila Langford paint Nina as troublesome, Dylan stays silent, though he knows the sacrifices she made for him.

Cornered by his brother Adrian Jenkin, Nina says she has always liked steady, dependable men. Enraged, Dylan drags her and Ivy into his car and races down the expressway, ignoring her heart condition. After she collapses, Ivy claims Nina faked her illness, and Dylan leaves her on the ground.

Nina wakes in a hospital bed to find Adrian beside her, offering a marriage of convenience. Before she can answer, the door swings open.
