Chapter 4Your Blind Date Has Been Delivered

It was almost the holidays, and I’d managed to fracture my bone. Logan heard about it instantly. He swaggered into my house, even bringing a ridiculously expensive pair of crutches. His handsome face always spouted crazy things: “Holiday season, and you’re on crutches, you’re something else, Scarlett Sullivan.”

I genuinely couldn’t imagine a girl like Anna McCarthy falling for someone like Logan. Truly a misfortune for our family.

“Don’t you worry your head, it’s a hairline fracture, not a full break. You don’t need to be so happy.”

He unexpectedly poked my head with his finger. “Can you even remember you’re a woman? You charged at him even though he had a knife? Are you trying to get yourself killed?” Logan and I might be sworn enemies, but we certainly didn’t wish death upon each other.

“How was I supposed to know he had a knife when I chased him? But thanks to you calling me a menace, I guess I’m unkillable. Just don’t tell my mom.” I was afraid my mom would tie me down in the hospital for the entire holiday.

I glared at him, asking the crucial question: “Anyway, since when do you care if I live or die? What are you doing here? Just passing by?”

His face changed, even flushing slightly. “I deigned to check if you were dead.”

I glanced out the window, understanding. “Oh? This is the university district. Did you fall for a college student?”

He instantly became flustered, his face turning even redder. Annoyed, he stalked towards the door. “If I ever come to see you again, I’m a dog.”

Did I hit the nail on the head? I called out to his retreating back, “Logan, you didn’t fall for a male college student, did you?” He responded with a raised fist.

The comments section buzzed:

【The male lead fell in love with the female lead at first sight on the street, even chasing her to her campus gate.】

【If the male lead’s mom hadn’t insisted he invite the female side character over, he wouldn’t have come.】

…I really wanted to say. He ran off too fast, he didn’t even tell me about his aunt inviting me to dinner, did he?

Not two minutes later, the doorbell rang. I hopped over to open the door. “What, you again—?”

But it was Julian Knight standing outside. Behind Julian, there were many people. Such a grand entrance immediately scared me into a precarious one-legged stance. I lost my balance and fell backward. As Julian caught me, my hands landed directly on his chest muscles. It was… a very nice feel.

“Your foot isn’t good, so I’ve brought people to take care of you.”

“But, can you please stop squeezing for a moment?”

Since he hadn’t been immediately swept away by the female lead, I saw no reason not to keep fighting for him. I didn't let go, still enjoying the feel. Casually, I asked him again, “Julian, shall we get married?”

“Yes, but before we get married, can you please stop squeezing?”

“Sorry, I’ve just never touched… that before.” Wait, what did he just say? He actually agreed?
