If There Is a Next Life，I Hope We Never Meet Again

Josephine Nelson has loved Jacob Curtis since childhood, when she watched her mother work as a maid in his family's home. After his childhood sweetheart Natalia Sterling left him, Jacob drowned his sorrows in drink, and Josephine stayed by his side. One night he asked her to marry him, and she believed he had finally chosen her.

But on the night of their son's one-month banquet, Natalia calls, and Jacob rushes out without a backward glance, leaving Josephine bleeding on the floor with their baby in her arms. Walking home through the dark streets, she and her son are attacked in an alley, and Josephine wakes to find herself a ghost, invisible to the husband who cannot see her.

Watching Jacob chat warmly with Natalia, Josephine finally hears the truth about what she meant to him. Yet Jacob has no idea what has become of his wife and child.
