The Cryogenic Wife

Fifteen years after her death, a woman is resurrected by a System and sent to save a boy on a rooftop — the son she never raised. The child, Caleb, is withdrawn and nearly mute, his silence a symptom of severe psychological illness. His father, Julian Vance, has buried himself in work, leaving the boy to be raised by a nanny who neglected and beat him, and later by Bella, Julian's assistant, who resents the child and tells him his mother will never return.

Determined to reclaim her place, the woman clashes with Bella, who accuses her of being a stranger manipulating Caleb. When Bella calls Julian, he demands to see the woman's face on video — but Caleb blocks the camera and pulls her into his room, refusing to let his father look at her.

As the woman confronts what fifteen years have done to her family, Caleb grabs her wrist and, with a faint tremble in his voice, begs her not to leave.
