CEO Husband Loves Me, Desires His Intern

Zoe has spent five years married to Jeremy, a CEO who claims a strange illness binds his body to Molly, the intern he hired. Every month he vanishes for ten days of "treatment," returning with red marks and her perfume, kneeling and swearing he loves only Zoe. She softens each time, believing his heart is hers.

Late in her hard-won pregnancy, a falling billboard strikes her. She calls Jeremy over a dozen times; he never answers. Then she sees Molly's post: a new identity as a mother, Jeremy's hand on her belly, a prenatal report in his hand. Bleeding, Zoe calls an ambulance alone.

In the hospital the doctor tells her the fetus is gone and that no such physiological dependency exists. When Jeremy finally messages that he is busy, Zoe tells the nurse her husband is dead.
