Story
The story
Fitch Elliott has bought the ninety-ninth paparazzi video of his wife Briar Rhodes cheating on him. Once, she was the eighteen-year-old girl who held his hand in the school hallway, wrote him a promise note vowing a home with babies and a cat, and declared before the whole student body that she loved him. Now she is a cold, shrewd businesswoman who has given her secretary, Logan Miller, the twins she once promised Fitch.
After he slits his throat in the bath, Briar saves him, then tells him the title of husband is permanently his and asks why he cannot accept two children. Fitch asks for a divorce. Then new ink rises on the old promise note: a voice claiming to be her guardian angel warns the teenage Briar not to be with Fitch Elliott.
Across eleven years, Fitch writes to the girl who once loved him without reservation, telling her that loving him will destroy him. Her handwriting wavers, demanding proof. His ruined life is the only proof he has.
