The Rabbit's Trap

After midnight, a woman named Chloe shares an elevator with a masked stranger, Wyatt, who holds a taut iron chain—and then panics because his dog, Boxer, is missing. She comforts him, helps him search, and gets his number under the guise of a lost-dog notice. Back home, she feeds the very dog she has hidden in her spare room, then opens a laptop file on Wyatt, a well-known esports streamer who lives alone and trusts too easily. Her brother cut Boxer's collar so the meeting would go smoothly. With the building's cameras down until eight, Chloe must return the dog before then, and she turns the rescue into an excuse to enter Wyatt's apartment, borrow his shower, and wear his shirt. Her careful plan falters when a cockroach escapes from her purse and sends the terrified Wyatt fleeing, pulling her along with him.
