But it was too late. The video was already playing on the projector screen. Halfway through, the camera’s view clearly showed Lila, hunched over her desk, furtively taking pictures of the test paper with her phone. Then, she looked up, shooting a venomous glare directly in my direction.

The entire class gasped. The video continued, showing me completing my test, never once looking at anything other than my own paper. The so-called cheat sheet never appeared.

The atmosphere in the room shifted. A girl in the front row muttered, “Oh my God, she’s one of those psycho girls. And isn’t Liam officially Paige’s boyfriend? What’s with this chick bringing him lunch and hanging all over him every day?”

“Right? Anyone who didn’t know better would think she was his girlfriend.”

Lila’s face was chalk-white. Her eyes, brimming with tears, rolled back in her head, and she collapsed gracefully into Liam’s arms.

Liam’s expression hardened. He scooped her up, then turned to me, his voice dripping with contempt. “You went too far. You’re the one who moved away, and now you come back and bully her like this. Why do you have to be such a bitch, Paige?”

He carried Lila out of the room without a backward glance.

I didn’t care. All that mattered was that the truth was out.

But then, the subtitles flashed a new spoiler.
