Heir to Nothing, Master of Everything

Four years ago, Ethan was cast out of Sterling Manor by his birth parents, Richard and Eleanor Sterling, who favoured the boy they believed was their true son, Miles Sterling. He left the country and built his own empire, selling his company for billions before returning to Coastal City to renovate his adoptive parents' old house.

Miles arrives first, demanding Ethan kneel and beg for a place in the Sterling family. When Ethan refuses, Richard and Eleanor appear, urging him home while insisting he was always the wayward one who clashed with Miles. Ethan remembers the beatings, the scraps, and the day Miles claimed he was pushed down the stairs. He agrees to return to Sterling Manor only to learn what scheme lies behind their sudden change of heart, and is promptly shut into the utility room.
