Story
The story
Solomon Perry has been friends with Lauren Henson and Aiden Quill since childhood, and he and Lauren have drained their savings to buy a house for their wedding. But the deed now lists Aiden as the owner, the change rushed through three days ago as the payoff of another bet between the two of them. The initials inside Solomon's wedding ring were never his, and his honeymoon fund went to cover an emergency of Aiden's. Every time he objects, they call him too sensitive and tell him it was only a joke.
When Lauren asks him to buy lobster for Aiden's seafood chowder, Solomon pours out the oatmeal he made for her and cuts the love-knot charm she once knelt at a temple to obtain. At the new house, Aiden has replaced the sofa, the curtains and the cups, and bets Lauren for the master bedroom. Solomon agrees to let him stay, then quietly signs away the debt tied to his down-payment share at a loss.
As Aiden tells him he loses every time, Solomon decides this crowded friendship of three is no longer something he wants.
