His Game, My Rules

Aaron and Lydia were high school sweethearts who married right after graduation. A decade later, Aaron brings Lena into his office as his personal assistant, and when Lydia sees them together at a restaurant, she stays composed and asks only that they talk at home. That night, Aaron proposes an open marriage, and Lydia simply answers, "Alright."

Life grows freer for Aaron: he stays out all night, keeps Lena in an apartment near his office, and wires Lydia a monthly allowance that has climbed from $1,000 to $20,000. Yet when Lydia calls about their cat Mittens having a seizure, Aaron snaps that he is not a vet. He ends things with Lena, then turns his attention to her roommate, Skye, a girl so naive her hands tremble pouring a drink.

Lydia's calm never cracks, and Aaron cannot tell whether she is truly unbothered or quietly keeping score.
