Story

The story

Bradley Graham's roommates want him to pay five thousand dollars for a New Year Countdown Light Show booth seat, but he refuses, saving instead for tuition. Zane Lawson mocks him online, calling him a party pooper to be avoided. Then the roommates send Bradley a photo of the show, and a frantic call from counselor Taylor Watts changes everything: the tickets were booked under Bradley's name and student ID, yet no one ever checked in. Zane, Timothy Bass and Howard Grant have vanished, their phones switched off.

Bradley insists he never booked anything and was studying in the library all night. Back at Room 412, school administrators and the missing students' parents demand answers, and Zane's mother, Mrs. Lawson, accuses Bradley of luring her son out of jealousy. With the reservation in his name and bad blood between them, Bradley must prove his innocence before the accusation hardens into guilt.

Opening excerpt

My roommates have booked booth seats at the New Year Countdown Light Show at the price of five thousand dollars per ticket. Soon, they begin urging me to transfer them my share of the payment on the group chat.

I just send them a screenshot of the remaining balance in my bank account. "You guys have fun. I'm still saving up for my college tuition fees."

Everyone just spams me with laughing messages instead.
