Story
The story
Ethan has waited a long time for a kidney transplant, but his wife Sarah gives the organ meant for him to Mark, her first love, who has kidney disease. To keep Ethan from storming the hospital, she locks him in their bedroom, leaving him only crackers and expired milk while she spends her days and nights at Mark's bedside.
When Sarah finally opens the door a month later, Ethan tells her he will die without the kidney. She dismisses his fear, insisting Mark has never handled pain well and that Ethan should understand him more. Ethan walks out, resolved to leave, but Sarah refuses to let go of his hand.
Back home, Mark lies on the massage chair Ethan bought, and Sarah fusses over him. Mark claims he never knew what Sarah had done and offers to kneel in thanks, while Sarah calls their bond purely friendship. When Ethan calls Mark her boyfriend, Sarah slaps him, and he collapses.
