Story
The story
On her deathbed, Audrey Hayes learns from her son that her husband Alistair Walker never had cardiomyopathy—he faked it for thirty years to hide his affair with Olivia Thorne, the son's real mother. Audrey's own baby drowned long ago. She dies spitting blood, then wakes in the delivery room, reborn on the day she gives birth, next door to Olivia.
Overhearing Alistair and Olivia gloat about their scheme, Audrey bribes a male nurse to switch the newborns' name tags. Alistair parades Olivia as his widowed sister-in-law and installs her in the VIP room, even naming her the baby's godmother. When Olivia fakes a fall and later snatches the infant to nurse him, Alistair's bodyguards beat the nurse and he takes the child.
But turning the baby over, Alistair freezes: there is no birthmark on his shoulder.
