Autopsy of Love: The Forensic Husband's Regret

Sienna Monroe lies dying in an abandoned factory, tortured by thugs hired by her sister, Vivian Richmond. When she calls her husband, Ethan Monroe, for help, he accuses her of faking an injury to ruin Vivian's birthday and refuses to come. Only after her death does Sienna learn the truth: the headless body Ethan is called to examine as a forensic pathologist is her own, and the plain ring and tiny embryo found inside it are all that remain of the wife he has long despised.

Invisible beside him, Sienna watches Ethan dance with Vivian, accept her parents' praise of the match, and give Vivian his mother's sapphire necklace. At the crime scene he works with cold precision, dismisses their wedding anniversary, and calls her clingy when his assistant Adrian Blake mentions her habit of bringing him umbrellas in the rain.

Walking home through the downpour, Ethan shelters Vivian under one umbrella and agrees to join her beach trip, while Sienna trails behind, her last hope washing away. He still does not know whose body lies on his table.
