Humiliated at My Engagement, I Became Another Woman’s Groom

On the day set for Kirk Dasom’s engagement, his fiancée Yvonne Fitzwilliam never appears. Her aide Kelvin Sandoval delivers only a message: the absence is meant to teach Kirk a lesson for taking a vintage watch from his cousin Kevin, and the engagement will be rescheduled once he apologizes. Overnight, Kirk becomes the joke of Huntsville, while his elder sister Lorraine urges him to let Kevin’s temper settle and hand over the watch.

At the ceremony, no one from the Fitzwilliam family comes. Kevin kneels and weeps, and Lorraine takes his side, pressing Kirk to give up the Dasom family’s hundred-year ancestral watch. Kirk lays the watch on the table and lets them decide, until his uncle erupts and orders Lorraine to kneel in the memorial chapel and copy the family rules. Lorraine turns on Kirk, accusing him of scheming, and Kevin keeps begging forgiveness.

Kirk answers that he never expected his sister to defend him, and that Kevin, given the best of everything, still wants whatever is his. Lorraine calls him small-minded and unbearable, leaving Kirk to face the family’s judgment alone.
