He Begged Me to Stay After I Stopped Loving Him

For seven years, Viola Payne loved Morton Harding without ever being loved back. She secretly funded his studies, paid for his mother's surgery, and bankrolled his company, and out of gratitude he married her. Yet Morton's heart stayed with Zara Fox, the woman who once impersonated Viola and later returned to claim his attention. On their third wedding anniversary, Morton cooks Viola a dinner she cannot eat and gifts her earrings that were merely a freebie from a necklace he bought Zara. Viola finally slides divorce papers across the table and tells him she no longer wants him.

Morton refuses to believe her, and when Zara stages a fall and accuses Viola of cruelty, he shoves her into a cabinet and takes Zara's side without a second thought. Moving into one of her own luxury properties, Viola blocks his calls, only to rescue Zara from a stranger in a parking garage and be repaid with a lie that she was meeting a man in secret. Morton drags her home, convinced of her betrayal, and pins her down as the room spins.
